Realtor Partner Program

We want to invite you to team with Blue Ridge Forever to protect the scenic views and treasured mountains that draw so many homebuyers to settle here.

Blue Ridge Forever is a land protection campaign spearheaded by 13 area land conservancies, including Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust. We work with landowners to conserve properties with significant ecological, aquatic, scenic, agriculture or recreational value. As many homebuyers are attracted to the very qualities of a community that we protect, and the proximity of tracts to protected lands increases property value, we see how land conservation contributes to a healthy real estate market.

Aware of this connection, real estate agents in western North Carolina are finding creative ways to contribute to conservation. For example, Lake James Crescent Communities and Creston Mountain Homesites donate a membership to the local land trust in the name of all new owners. Recently, Mike Miller of Town and Mountain Realty in Asheville agreed to purchase a membership to the local land trust in honor of customers who buy or sell real estate through the firm.

We are working to expand this Blue Ridge Forever realtor-giving program throughout western North Carolina. You, too, can join the program. For every new sale, you simply donate a tax-deductible membership to Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust as a gift in the name of your client. Your client will receive a welcome packet from Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust and various member benefits. We will send press releases to local media announcing your partnership with Blue Ridge Forever and Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust.

This realtor-giving program is a tremendous way to boost land conservation while maintaining a healthy housing market. We are lucky to live in one of the most biologically diverse and scenic regions in the world, which attracts visitors who contribute more than $2 billion a year in tourism revenue. But this decade, we are in a crucial time of change and growth. Our chance to protect the beauty of this region is fleeting.

WNC’s land trusts could use your help in educating the public on the opportunity we have to save our Southern Blue Ridge Mountains for generations to come. Thank you again for the work you are already doing to protect our shared environment!

I welcome your call at 828-263-8776 or 336-359-2909.

Sincerely,

James H. Coman, III
